Hearst Corp., a diversified media and information company, has used an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) to create a virtual tour of New York City’s 46- floor Hearst Tower. The video commemorates the upcoming 10th anniversary of the building’s topping out – the placement of the last beam during the construction phase – in February 2005.

Designed by architect Lord Norman Foster, it opened in 2006, rising nearly 600 feet above its six-story base.  The video tour provides a never-before-seen perspective on the architecture, people and innerworkings of Hearst’s 57th St. world headquarters, the company explains. The video was produced by McConnell/Hauser, and the UAV was supplied by Perspective Aerials.

Very well done. The video is narrated by the architect who is a charming host and rightfully proud of his accomplishment. The combination of a passionate voice over, a great design and unique visuals is a winning combination here.
